I am a lifelong learner—an economist by profession, a code-writer and data analyst by inclination, and a proud steward of my Scottish ancestry at heart. In the years ahead, I will integrate heritage, storytelling, and technical skill to build a legacy that blends tradition, creativity and insight into a vision worth sharing with the world.
For 25 years, I have been an economist and data analyst. I've built my career on translating complex economic and financial trends into insight-driven strategies. My professional journey has balanced technical expertise, public engagement, and a global perspective—all grounded in a commitment to helping people and organizations achieve their goals.
Through rigorous econometric modeling and data analysis experience, I’ve developed a deep understanding of macroeconomic forces, industry cycles, and consumer behavior. What sets me apart in the field is my rare combination of analytical depth and communication skills. I not only build models that uncover hidden patterns and predictive signals, I also bring those insights to life through clear, engaging public presentations and stakeholder briefings. I’ve presented economic commentary and research through television, radio, print, and live speaking engagements. I’ve held senior economist roles across global research firms and financial institutions, designing tools that interpret regional, national, and international economic dynamics. I’ve also worked as an adjunct instructor in business statistics, where my teaching style emphasized clarity, engagement, and real-world application.
I hold a Bachelor of Science in Economics, a Master of Science in Economics & Finance, and an MBA in Global Management. I’ve also earned specialized certifications in Machine Learning from Stanford University and advanced Time Series Forecasting through the National Association for Business Economics. These academic foundations have shaped a perspective that’s both technically grounded and strategically oriented. They’ve also fueled a lifelong curiosity about how economies function across borders, cultures, and systems.
My work has taken me around the world, with formative experiences living and working in Sydney, Australia and studying in Venice, Italy. These global contexts have broadened not only my worldview but also my economic intuition—giving me a first-hand understanding of how different societies respond to opportunity, disruption, and innovation.
While my professional identity is grounded in economics and data, I have also explored blockchain technology through a separate creative venture—leveraging smart contracts, NFTs, and decentralized publishing. The principles that guide this work—accessibility, innovation, and autonomy—align closely with my professional ethos.
Outside of work, I pursue language learning as both a personal passion and a form of cognitive discipline. I am currently working toward fluency in Gàidhlig (Scottish Gaelic), a pursuit that pairs meaningfully with my hobby of playing the Great Highland bagpipes and my deeper connection to my ancestral heritage.
I am a proud member of Clan MacLean and serve as a convener at the Ligonier Highland Games festival annually.
I have also re-engaged with Japanese—a language I studied during my undergraduate years— and have previously immersed myself in the study of Norwegian, Turkish, Italian and Spanish. In the same spirit, I'm a dedicated student of programming languages, including Python, Visual Basic for Applications (VBA), and Solidity. I use my coding skills to support data modeling, automation, and exploration of emerging technologies. Whether through language, data, or economic signals, I’m drawn to the challenge of uncovering meaning and connection in complex systems.
